WF1 Sports Racing Prototype
The WF1 is the ultimate open cockpit sports racing prototype thoroughbred.
Affordable and exhilarating, a WF1 is at the top of the time charts in the hands of a capable driver and offers unparalleled performance for your investment. Drivers use words like visceral, addicting and ultimate in describing the feeling of driving a WF1. More than one driver has sold their very serious production-based race car to buy a Stohr WF-1, after just one turn behind the wheel.
"I came from (Formula) Atlantic where it was point and shoot. It felt like cheating to be honest. My WF1 requires more input and the results are far more satisfying. The perfect lap feels like you're working in concert with the car's capabilities. The results are FA speeds with a far more visceral experience."
WF1 driver Doug Campbell
With several tuned sport-bike powerplants available, the Stohr WF1 has flexibility designed in across multiple classes of competition in multiple sanctioning bodies. The development of the WF1 is on-going, with many upgrades becoming available since its introduction.
Ground effect aerodynamics
The WF1 has a full ground effects underbody with maximized options for SCCA P1 or P2 classes. The large chord carbon rear wing and adjustable flap are positioned to maximize air flow from the rear diffuser. The carbon fiber front diffuser provides matching grip and also provides crash protection. The body is of light-weight carbon fiber composite construction.
Hybrid carbon fiber chassis
Stohr pioneered the combined use of steel and carbon chassis structures in SCCA, resulting in a safe, stiff, and highly responsive car. A carbon fiber cockpit is combined with steel tube front and rear clips.
Cockpit amenities
Standard equipment includes a Momo steering wheel with SPA quick release and F1 style paddle shifter. An optional dash provides RPM, water and oil temp, oil pressure, lap times, and data recording. A Stohr-designed light weight pedal assembly is adjustable for the driver.
Engine and drivetrain
The WF1 accommodates modern 4 cylinder super-bike engines including the extremely capable Suzuki Hayabusa and many of the newer 1 liter offerings. Standard equipment includes a WRD designed chain-drive differential with lightened CV joints and hollow half-shafts, aluminum radiator, and large oil cooler. The Stohr billet aluminum transaxle case is designed to take suspension loads while destressing the engine case.
Suspension
Industry-leading Penske shocks are available in single, double, or triple adjustable models, providing an unparalleled level of control and aiding with mechanical grip. Ultra-light Jongbloed center-lock racing wheels come mounted with sticky Goodyear or Hoosier tires. Our bespoke uprights are machined from billet aluminum with durable sleeves installed for increased wheel bearing rigidity. Large wheel bearings are used to attain slower bearing speeds while withstanding the high downforce loads our cars generate.
Brakes
Wilwood billet aluminum brake calipers. Custom vented brake rotors which are fully floating on light weight billet aluminum hats. Floating rotors provide a firmer pedal and longer rotor life. Master cylinders are Wilwood with cockpit adjustable brake bias control. All of this gives the driver increased confidence under braking.
